When it comes to travel, we are on a journey to a future of complete digitization. From researching and planning to booking and managing our trips; we do it all online – meaning intuitive ecommerce experiences have never been more important.
Being a long-standing force within the travel industry, Irish Ferries understood focus on ecommerce. And, having recently invested €450million into the most modern fleet in Europe, they were ready to build an online experience that was in line with their award-winning travel enterprise.
Working with Irish Ferries’ existing design and advertising partners, we brought Irish Ferries a mobile optimised, marketing-automation enabled, intuitive website that showcased Irish Ferries and led to significant ecommerce growth.
With customers prone to comparing costs, we also implemented interactive components, such as a Quick Quote tool to facilitate real-time planning and simplify the booking process.
Using Episerver CMS, we gave Irish Ferries a flexible, marketing platform that's focused on driving conversion.
The future of travel is personalised and with Episerver, Irish Ferries can easily publish unique content for different visitor groups and carry out A/B testing to gain a deeper understanding of their visitors, report on goals, predict future actions and create data to feed email marketing campaigns.
Prior to this project, Irish Ferries already had a solid web presence that generated high visitor numbers. But with this new, modern, personalised and conversion focused solution they were able to turn those visitors into customers. Mobile bookings increased by an astounding 75% on the previous year and Irish Ferries now have an intuitive online user experience that positions them ahead of competitors when it comes to ferry travel.
As Irish Ferries expand their fleet in 2018 with a new €144m ship, we continue to work with them to elevate their digital presence. In 2017, we began work on a new Irish Ferries mobile application for IOs and Android, following striking mobile usage on the main website. Providing real time updates, sailing schedules and the ability to book journeys and manage bookings, we’re confident that we can continue to steer Irish Ferries towards digital success.
