Purpose of the role
To build commercially sound and strategically ambitious roadmaps that help our clients succeed. That means we’re looking for people to grow, develop and manage all aspects of the relationship by cross and up-selling our services and creating new ones where appropriate. The Digital Account Director will be able to:
- Develop a good understanding of clients' needs. Understand their industry, competitors, market pressures and incorporate this thinking into compelling propositions
- Build good relationships with decision makers at every level, whereby they trust and value your opinions, seek advice on their business, technology and operations issues
Key Outcomes of the role
- Grow the value of your existing client portfolio with a particular focus on improving recurring revenue
- Building relationships with decision makers at every level. Earning trust with their business, technology, design, and operational concerns
- Identify gaps in the service and communicate the correct marketing solutions that achieve the client’s business objectives.
Critical Success Factors
- Mix of recurring revenue v project revenue
- Sales revenue of existing accounts
- Gross profit margin
- Developing clear objectives and KPI’s to measure client engagement and satisfaction
Your main relationships
- Reports to the Head of Client Services
- Role is part of UK Client Services team
- Work closely with Senior Management Team in presales and delivery
Key Responsibilities
- Design account development strategies that deliver high levels of predictable profitable revenue for a specific set of accounts
- Define and communicate client requirements
- Assess budget constraints and work with Client Partner to manage negotiations accordingly
- Assemble presales teams
- Write proposals, present and work with the Client Partner, Managing Partner or SMT to close opportunities
- Chair internal and client meetings - creating and maintaining convergence and alignment
- Act as day to day point of contact and first line of escalation of production issues where acceptable project tolerance is breached
- Maintain accurate CRM records and support internal business reporting

- A passion for unearthing opportunity to solve client problems
- Have excellent communication skills, to both clients and internal stakeholders
- Spearhead pitches and new business development within your portfolio
- Write proposals and manage deals to the point of contract agreement
- Attend weekly meetings with Client Services team
- Maintain close view of works in progress. Continually nurture and monitor client relationships and satisfaction within your portfolio, address concerns effectively
- Challenge the work we produce for our clients. Set and maintain the highest standards
- Keep delivery team and Senior Management Team up-to-date with relevant client issues
- Maintain accurate and timely revenue forecasts
- Be prepared to go the extra mile to deliver successful outcomes
Knowledge
- A Passion for marketing and digital innovations
- Knowledge of software development industry
- Project Management methodologies
Experience
- 5+ years experience in a similar role working on digital projects, ideally in a reptuable agency
- Experience and comfortable working with multiple projects and cross-functional teams (e.g., UX/Creative/Strategy)
It would be extra nice if you had
- Experience working with the Optimizely Digital Experience Platform / Suite of products
