The Team

 

The technology team is the delivery workhorse of the agency and has expertise in the design, architecture, implementation, validation and optimisation of high-availability, high-capacity websites, integrations and digital experiences.

 

We are recognised experts in the implementation and use of Episerver products covering E-Commerce, Content Management, Customer Data and Marketing Automation. We have 10 Episerver certified developers and our team comprises of 2 Episerver Most Valuable Professionals (from only 50 worldwide) who are recognised for their product and industry expertise.

 

The team has 4 functions split across the full technology delivery lifecycle: Architecture, Development, Quality Assurance and Support.

 

The Quality Assurance function is a team of close-knit software testing specialists who plan, create and execute, manual and automated tests ensuring our teams uphold standards, and deliver high qualitysolutions for our clients.

 

Purpose of the role

 

The Quality Assurance Lead (QAL) manages a team of Quality Assurance Analysts and is responsible for the agency’s overall quality assurance and testing capability. The QAL supports the team through the analysis, design, implementation, and execution of test cases, test procedures, and test suites. Acting as a champion of quality, the QAL will also perform as a hands-on senior tester within projects, where they will work closely with both the project’s Delivery Manager and Technical Lead to deliver successful project outcomes.

Day to Day Activities

 

  • Supporting and mentoring direct reports to ensure they can progress in their tasks
  • Planning new projects and assigning quality assurance project roles to team members
  • Join daily stand-ups, ensuring quality teams remain focussed on goals
  • Producing project delivery plans with Delivery Managers and Technical Architects
  • Writing and maintaining testing and quality process documentation
  • Participating in the creation and execution of test events
  • Creating and maintaining automated and manual tests
  • Liaising with developers to ensure unit and integration tests provide comprehensive test coverage
  • Reporting on test progress to delivery management and ensure that risks are escalated as appropriate

Knowledge 

 

  • Broad knowledge of web development; HTML/CSS, Javascript, SEO, Analytics, Security, Performance, Accessibility and Mobile web development
  • Knowledge of project management and delivery methodologies such as PRINCE 2 and Agile / Scrum
  • Knowledge of software development industry and quality assurance best-practise and current innovation

 

Experience 

 

  • 5+ years of software testing experience
  • 3+ years of working with web-based technologies
  • Experience of leading a quality assurance, testing team and/or managing QA team members
  • Experience in software specification analysis, writing test plans, test objectives, test strategies based on business and technical requirements
  • Experience of working with test planning and management software such as Azure Test Plan, QTest
  • Test automation experience with Selenium WebDriver
  • Experience of working with version control (e.g. Git) and development task management and continuous integration platforms (such as JIRA, DevOps)
  • Experience and comfort working with multiple projects and cross-functional teams (e.g., UX/Creative/Strategy)
 
It would be extra nice if you had

 

  • Experience working with the modern digital marketing systems, such as Content Management, Ecommerce, Marketing Automation and digital analytics and optimisation systems
  • Experience designing and running performance and load testing on websites (e.g. JMeter)
  • Desire to write and share your experience with communities
