Held from 8th to 11th November in Las Vegas, it’s set to be the biggest ever gathering of Episerver and Ektron staff, customers and partners in one place. We are looking forward to widening our knowledge, learning from some top players in their digital fields and passing on our new insights to all our current and future clients.
The conference is jam packed with value right from day one. It's going to include some of the world’s leading experts in disruptive technologies, imparting their wisdom across different sessions and seminars. Leading analyst and bestselling author, R “Ray” Wang, who recently published his new book Disrupting Digital Business will be talking about how we can stay one step ahead in this ever-changing digital landscape.
There will also be much to learn from the TED Talk presenter and talented painter Erik Wahl, who is going to speak on how to creatively translate innovation to profitability. Plus, as one of our major partners in the field of content management and e-commerce, we will be listening closely to Episerver’s own leadership team as they explain how their marketing and product strategies have been carefully aligned with partners like us and their customers.
We’re looking forward to gaining some real customer insight through the conference’s focus on customer stories. We will be attending a number of sessions that are dedicated to telling us exactly how pioneers in the digital world have taken their work to the next level, as well as imparting how some of the impressive transformations made by long time movers in the digital world have transpired.
We are especially looking forward to Deane Barker’s session on the fundamentals of content management implementation. With Deane’s position as a long time CMS veteran with a huge amount of experience in all aspects of CMS from development right through to sales, he’s putting his extensive knowledge out there for all to learn from. With this calibre of end-to-end digital experience on hand, it's sure to be incredibly valuable to all professionals involved in delivering an excellent digital experience; developers, project managers as well as customers.
But it’s not all listening and note-taking. At the Ascend ’15 conference there will be plenty of practical sessions to allow us to get a bit more hands-on. The unique lab sessions will enable us to take home tips and tricks to make the most of our technological investments. Advantages, which of course, we will be able to pass on to our own customers upon our return.
The two lab rooms at the conference will focus on effective merchandising, how to create truly personalised experiences and how to develop for the steadily evolving mobile web. One we are particularly looking forward to learning from is Practical Marketing Automation and the Web. Chris Osterhout will guide us through the integration of different systems, in order to map the full digital user journey from anonymous visitor through to identifiable customer, allowing us much greater insight and knowledge of varying customer journeys.
In addition, the breakout sessions and workshops will give us a chance to explore different themes and develop ideas alongside others looking to do the same. The wide range of topics to cover include the latest in digital marketing techniques, best practices in web development, how best to approach commerce and how to address specific challenges and find solutions in different areas of focus.
These sessions will enable us to get involved in a practical way, highlighting how collaboration can boost effectiveness in our learning and development. One highlight is sure to be delivered by Episerver’s own Alf Nilsson who will guide us to an understanding of coding best practices and performance optimisation needed to build a truly precise and responsive Episerver solution with tools such as SQL Profiler, dotTrace, and Application Insights.
Bob Egner, Episerver’s own VP of Product Management will also be providing a breakout session that is not to be missed. This roadmap session will review Episerver’s most recent releases and forthcoming plans as well as map out Episerver’s themes and focuses for the next 12–18 months for all product lines from Ektron to Episerver and including the converged Digital Experience Cloud.
So there you have it – the first ever Episerver Ascend conference looks set to be an all-round winner for enhancing the skills and knowledge base of digital professionals like ourselves. With its timetable jam packed with engagement specialists and inspirational expert speakers, this is one we can’t afford to miss!
