Like most retailers, leading Irish book retailer Eason faces the growing challenge of competition from Amazon. Trading online since 1998, and with almost 70 stores across Ireland, the effects of the continued growth of Amazon meant that Eason was required to differentiate in the market.
As with many other sectors, customer expectation has evolved, meaning retailers have to think and act differently to meet and exceed their customers’ needs. With this in mind, Eason’s vision was to focus on providing customers with a true omnichannel experience, using this as a leading competitive differentiator.
In the summer of 2017, Eason challenged Made to Engage to deliver this vision, built on Episerver and fully integrated to Microsoft Dynamics for Christmas that year. We took a strategic approach, focusing on adding value for Eason’s customers by delivering personalised, AI-driven and automated customer engagements.
This ambitious transformation was delivered within six months, and has delivered results such as a 60% increase in campaign revenue over the Christmas season, the launch of a two-hour Click & Collect guarantee across Eason’s retail network and a significant increase in Eason’s marketing agility to deliver omnichannel campaigns.
