Placement Front End Developer

As a Placement Front End Developer with Made to Engage you will be joining a multi award-winning company that works to create beautiful, modern and easy to use web applications for our ever-growing client list.

You will have the opportunity to work on projects for a range of highly-recognised brands such as Permanent TSB, Eason’s, Henderson’s Food Services, Power NI and many more

You will do this by using industry-leading technologies such as HTML5, SCSS, Gulp & React, all in our Episerver CMS. Are you ready for it? 


The essentials

  • A portfolio or examples of past work and projects
  • Understanding of responsive web design and best practices
  • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript & jQuery
  • CSS pre-processors such as SCSS & LESS (we use SCSS)
  • CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap
  • Build tools, such as Gulp & Webpack
  • Version control software such as Git
  • Knowledge of web optimisation techniques such as minification, sprite maps and methods of improving page speeds
  • Understanding of cross browser testing
  • Can work and clearly communicate with both graphic designers and back end developers to deliver new features
  • Have a firm understanding of UX principles
  • ...And most importantly, have a keen desire to learn!

The nice to haves

  • Knowledge of ES6
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular and / or Vue
  • Experience working in .NET environments
  • Experience working in the command line
  • Familiarity of the Adobe Suite, mainly Photoshop & Typekit
  • Knowledge of Agile practices
